10 times when celebrities wore saree at Cannes Film Festival
India has presented the country at the Cannes Film Festival with the tradition it has. Our celebrities have presented India in beautiful sarees be it a silk saree or an organza saree.
There isn’t a place where the traditional Indian attire of the sari hasn’t mesmerised people and the Cannes Film Festival is no exception. From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Kangana Ranaut to Vidha Balan they have flaunted beautifully in saree at Cannes.
1. Vidya Balan
Talented actress Vidhya Balan has attended the Cannes Film Festival as a jury member in 2013. She has worn the most beautiful piece from the collection of her favourite designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s designer saree with some Indian traditional gems.
2. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
The next comes the queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who ensures to be on the red carpet with gorgeous looks and she definitely picked Sabyasachi’s designer sarees for one of her appearances for the Cannes Film Festival. She has stunned us in every look and style that she carries whether it be at Cannes or at IIFA.
3.Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut has taken India with her to Cannes. On her second appearance she arrived in a Gold kanjeevaram saree which was styled with a golden corset and a peplum belt. To add a dram to her look she added plum colored gloves to finish off her look.

Deepika Padukone made a strong cultural statement at Cannes by wearing a white and gold saree draped in a classic way giving us the traditional Indian vibe with a low bun and finishing the look with some golden earrings and golden clutch.

Diana Penty stunned us in a pearl white saree gown accessorized with a pearl necklace, matching earrings and a bracelet by Aquamarine served as Penty’s go-to pick.

Nandita Das chose to wear a handwoven saree, which featured refined patterns and golden borders. She styles it with a temple style neckpiece along with maangtikka and complementing earrings.

Huma Qureshi looked divine in Gaurav Gupta’s white saree with a chikankari halter jacket shrug that added a lot of attention to her looks. A subtle makeup with a ponytail looked so chic on her that she caught the eyes of millions on the carpet.
